GIRLS SPEAK OUT WORLDWIDE We exist for you no matter your age, how you live and where you are. We reach root causes, explore from the inside-out, and educate and empower girls in a variety of ways while having fun. Welcome! We are over 100,000 girls and women on five continents ages 7 and up who believe in and work to build girls' strengths, leadership and activism. We have offices in the USA and Africa, partners in five countries and programs around the globe. In April and May 2009, girls in Africa, Canada and the USA attended our workshops in sizes ranging from 12 girls to 500, and we welcomed them afterschool, meeting rooms and as electives on campus. Do you know that most girls never learn about their challenges as female? And that when girls and women understand what can happen together, they are stronger, less confused and unlikely to blame themselves for societal prejudices and unfair beliefs? Best of all, we are happier and more successful. We're here to offer girls what they're missing in other places, and make sure they have the tools to build a complete and satisfying life. We support girls as they create and move ahead with a personal inside-out agenda. We work with each girl as an individual whether she comes to us on her own, through a friend or family member, as part of a group, or through a national or international network. We know that girls are strong, they bounce back from challenges no matter how unfair and scary, and that girls have answers. We believe that any of the problems children and adults face today, especially when our gender is used to control us, can be solved with and by girls. We know times are hard globally as a financial crisis affects each of us. We continue to be inspired because the need for change continues; and girls' strengths are priceless, timeless and enduring. We know that the future of the world's children depends on their mother's education, and that the education of girls--for themselves and for their families' future-- is a necessity. Our book is one of the first girls' self-help books that connects you across continents with girls and women who support you. We collaborate and participate in, read about, lead, share and help organize events and spread messages that bring girls together to find their true selves free of judgment and prejudice. We offer Girls Speak Out® workshops, action projects, networks of grassroots and global individuals and groups/tribes, trainings, national initiatives, curricula and conferences that express your unique true self, celebrate our differences--and support each girl's leadership from the inside-out. We collaborate with groups and indidivuals, and we are not a traditional membership organization. We want to help create leaders, not followers, and we move with you as you move ahead. We listen and share what we learn. We are creating a lasting network of committed girls and women who resonate worldwide. Because of you we are experts in bringing girls together from different backgrounds and economic and social classes, ethnicities, races, locations, and sexual orientations to connect across categories that can hide our true selves.
